What is Radon Gas?
Radon
Radon is a radioactive gas that has been found in homes throughout the United States. It comes from the natural breakdown of uranium in the soil, rock
and water. It typically moves up through the ground to the air above and into our homes through cracks and holes in foundations. Radon gas can also enter
homes through well water. Any home can have a radon problem. Radon gas can not be seen and has no smell. Approximately one out of fifteen homes in our country have elevated radon levels. The Surgeon General has warned that radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer in the United States today. If you smoke and your home has high radon levels, your risk of lung cancer has increased. Testing is the only way to find out your home's radon levels. If a high level of radon is detected, there are simple ways to fix the problem that are not too costly. Even extremely high levels can be reduced to acceptable levels.has been providing quality home inspection and consulting services for over 10 years.
